Booking a back-to-back cruise, or two consecutive cruises on the same ship, is a cruise hack that's popular with avid cruisers who want to extend their vacation time.

Since some cruise ships alternate itineraries, back-to-back cruises can offer passengers the chance to visit different ports across two sailings. Booking a back-to-back cruise can also give you more vacation for your money, since it allows you to take two cruises while only paying for the flights, hotels, and other travel expenses of one.

As more cruisers discover the benefits of booking back-to-back cruises, cruise lines and their port partners are introducing new ways to make the transition between two sailings easier for those passengers staying on board for an extended cruise.

In some home ports, back-to-back cruisers don't even have to disembark the ship when the first cruise ends. When possible, customs officials will now meet back-to-back cruisers in a designated lounge area on board a cruise ship during the turnaround between two sailings.

To make it even easier and more appealing for passengers to extend their island-style escapes on its Florida-based cruise ships, Margaritaville at Sea is introducing a dedicated back-to-back cruise program offering special perks for an effortless flow through two consecutive sailings.
