Aiken County detention center inmate dies following 'medical crisis'
AIKEN - The death of an Aiken County detention center inmate is being investigated according to a release from the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
On July 8, David Green Jr., 54 of Warrenville, was transported to Aiken Regional Medical Centers after suffering a medical crisis at the detention center, according to the coroner's office.
He was then transferred to WellStar MCG for a higher level of care and was pronounced dead at 9:06 a.m. on the morning of July 9.
An autopsy is scheduled in Newberry to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is continuing with the coroner's office along with South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division.
