Walker joins Palmetto Surgical Associates
Dr. Travelyan Marcel Walker has joined Providence Surgical Associates. Walker, board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and an associate fellow with the American College of Surgeons, specializes in minimally invasive surgery. He served as lieutenant commander in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy, based at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Walker is the author of numerous published medical papers on surgical topics ranging from laparoscopy, hernias, fistulas, catheter placement, thyroidectomies, and more. He received his medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he was also intern of the year and resident of the year. Providence Surgical Associates, located at 2750 Laurel St., provides general surgery, plastic surgery, and reconstructive surgery within the Providence Health system.
