Denny’s opening West Columbia eatery
A 24-hour Denny’s restaurant is opening next week along Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, bringing 85 jobs, the company said Monday.
Denny’s has refurbished a building at 2514 Sunset Blvd. near I-26 in a site that had been vacant after a Burger King closed its doors.
The official opening is set for 8 a.m. Tuesday, Denny’s said in a news release.
“The community has been very supportive, and we look forward to finally unveiling our new location,” owner Adam Jacobs said.
During the late 1970s and early to mid 1980s, Denny’s had a location in nearby Cayce along Knox Abbott Drive and Axtell Drive. That location later became a Mexican restaurant.
