Is another Aldi on the way in Lexington?

It looks like residents of Red Bank will have another grocery option in their future. Aldi, the German-based grocery chain known for great pricing, is on record having purchased property along Platt Springs Road.

According to Lexington County property transfers, Aldi (N.C.) LLC bought land at 5506 Platt Springs Rd. from RPW Publishing Corp. for $1,755,000. The location, close to the intersection of Platt Springs and S Lake Dr., is bounded by Lowe’s Home Improvement, Walmart Supercenter and the US Postal Service.

This will be the sixth location of the discount supermarket in the Lexington and Columbia area.
