More than 400 new jobs up for grabs in Columbia, Richland County
More than a year and a half after breaking ground on their Richland County facility, manufacturing company China Jushi is looking to fill more than 400 jobs in the Columbia area.
A job fair to fill positions at the plant will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the A.C. Jackson Wellness Center on Atlas Road in Columbia, according to a statement from host Bible Way Church of Atlas Road.
The factory, which will feature an 80,000-ton production line aimed at creating fiberglass reinforcements and fabrics, is expected to open in the fall, according to the statement. Jushi is the leading supplier of those products worldwide to the reinforced plastics industry.
Their supplies can be used to create pipes, pressure vessels, chemical tanks, sanitary apparatuses, electrical equipment, environmental protection equipment, wind energy equipment, boat hulls, car parts and sports equipment.
Pay will start at $16 an hour.
In 2012, the company opened a distribution center in Columbia on Idlewilde Boulevard.
