A longtime Columbia sweets vendor is opening a brick-and-mortar shop in the Vista.

The Donut Guy — which specializes in artisan doughnuts, funnel cakes and elephant ears — has set up outside of its upcoming new permanent location at 1215 Lincoln St., according to the shop’s Facebook post.

“We are so excited to announce the coming of our NEW Location in Columbia,” the restaurant posted on Facebook Monday. “We can’t wait to show you all we got in store!”

The shop has not yet set an opening date for its indoor shop, which was formerly home to The Peanut Man store.

Columbia residents might already be familiar with The Donut Guy’s treats.

The eatery has a food truck that regularly operates at Soda City Market, a weekly Saturday street fair on Columbia’s Main Street.

Donut Guy’s Columbia announcement comes just in time for Vista Lights, an annual holiday event designed to drive Columbia residents to local businesses for dining and shopping.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to clarify that the store has not set an opening date.
