Popular Bojangles near USC football stadium reopens Monday
The popular Bojangles restaurant on Bluff Road will reopen a short piece down the road on Monday.
The seasoned fried chicken and made-from-scratch biscuits location now will be at 1130 Bluff Road, about a block from the site that customers, particularly Gamecock football fans, have enjoyed for years.
It was important for store owner, Eddie Frazier, to bring a new and improved Bojangles’ to Columbia, just in time for the University of South Carolina football season, the company announced in a news release Thursday. The new restaurant offers an upgraded facility and store layout.
The 4,300-square-foot restaurant is the second in South Carolina to be owned by Coastal Operations LLC. The company announced in March that it was moving after 25 years at the former location.
Its menu will be the same as the other site and begins serving at 5 a.m.
The previous location, at the doorstep of Williams-Brice Stadium, overflows with customers during the football season. USC football fans clamor for fried chicken, the restaurant’s air conditioned comfort and the opportunity for a bathroom break.
