Midlands People & Achievements: George Gibbes
George Gibbes of Gibbes Ford in Orangeburg has been chosen president of the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association and has served on its board of directors for 16 years. Officers elected from the Midlands region include Perry Shuping of Honda of Columbia, Bruce Dyer of Dick Dyer Toyota in Columbia, Richard Pendarvis of Pendarvis Chevrolet Co. in Edgefield and Joe Trainor III of Stokes-Trainor in Newberry. The SCADA is the only statewide lobbying force for owners and dealers of new cars and trucks.
