USC dorm to get Barberitos

The first Barberitos restaurant in Columbia is to open Aug. 24 at a new on-campus USC student housing complex, the company announced Wednesday.

The Southwestern grille and cantina is to be at 650 Lincoln, whose first phase is to open for fall classes. Known for its fresh made-to-order burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos and salads, this University of South Carolina site offers a first for the chain: A service window for poolside guests.

Barberitos has 42 locations in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.
