A new sandwich shop is coming to upcoming Cayce district. Here’s what we know

A new concept for a sandwich shop is coming to Cayce.

The restaurant, Subs n Stuff, will be a “family-focused sub shop and gathering space,” will join the Cayce River Arts District later this year, according to a news release from Cayce Economic Development.

Menu offerings will include subs, burgers, wings, desserts and fresh drinks. But the concept will be much more than just food. Business owner Pete Ache has plans for an outdoor seating area, green space, public art and potential partnerships with neighboring businesses.

He is also exploring possible community events like paint-and-sip nights and arts-centered gatherings that connect directly with the district’s community.

The business will also have extended evening hours to serve both residents and visitors.

Subs n Stuff is expected to open in August.

Ache said the district’s energy and potential were major factors in his decision to invest in the area.

“There’s nothing better than downtown business owners collaborating,” Ache said in a news release. “My customers could be your customers and vice versa. Events, shared spaces, supporting each other — it’s better for everyone.”

Ache plans to apply for the city’s facade grant program to enhance the exterior of the property, including murals, landscaping and outdoor gathering areas, according to a news release.

The Cayce River Arts District, concentrated on State Street, features art studios, boutiques and restaurants. It strives to be a walkable, experience-driven destination. According to Cayce Economic Development, business owners are “increasingly drawn” to the district for its accessibility and atmosphere, and the city for its collaboration between local government, economic development and the business community.

Subs n Stuff, isn’t “just another restaurant opening,” Cayce Economic Development said. It reflects the “growing confidence” that entrepreneurs have in Cayce’s future.
