Atlanta-area theme park is closing its doors. When is its last day?
An iconic Atlanta-area theme park is closing its doors for the final time this summer.
Fun Spot America announced Thursday that the Fayetteville, Georgia, location will cease operations on Aug. 2, 2026, which the company called "an extremely difficult decision."
"Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and for the support we have received from the Fayetteville community," CEO John Arie Jr. said in a statement on June 25. "We are proud of the memories created in Atlanta and grateful to everyone who has been part of this chapter of our story."
When is the last day to visit Fun Spot America in Atlanta?
The last day of operation at Fun Spot America in Fayetteville is Aug. 2, 2026. The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m, according to the company.
"Season Passes and gift cards will remain valid at the Atlanta park through that date and will continue to be honored at Fun Spot America's Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida locations. Information regarding group events, field trips, and other outstanding reservations will be shared with affected guests in the coming weeks," the company said.
Are Fun Spot America locations in Florida still open?
Yes, the park's two Florida locations will remain open, according to the company. The first park opened in Orlando in 1997 after growing from a family-owned Fun N Wheels park in the city's tourist corridor.
The Florida locations now have dozens of attractions across more than 150 acres of land in one of the country's rollercoaster hotspots.
When did Fun Spot America come to Atlanta?
The Fayetteville park opened nearly four decades ago as Dixieland and grew from a miniature golf course to a theme park. The first rollercoaster, the Scream'n Eagle, was built in 2007.
The name was changed to Fun Junction USA in 2012, and then it was acquired by Fun Spot America in 2017.
ArieForce One, considered one of the best roller coasters in the world by thrill-seeking fans, was introduced in 2023.
The park has been an iconic stop for locals and tourists alike for generations and was even featured in the Netflix show "Cobra Kai."
