A well-known casual dining restaurant chain has closed a Columbia location along a busy road, marking the second Midlands closure for the company in recent weeks.

Ruby Tuesday, which has locations in numerous states, has closed its restaurant at 7490 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia. The Garners Ferry Ruby Tuesday is listed as “permanently closed” on Google and no longer appears on the locations page on the Ruby Tuesday website. The closure also has been the topic of discussion on the popular Lower Richland Community Facebook page.

The shuttering of the Garners Ferry location comes as Ruby Tuesday also recently closed its restaurant at 2504 Augusta Road in West Columbia. The only remaining Ruby Tuesday in the Columbia and Lexington area is at 5464 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington.

There are about 200 Ruby Tuesday locations in the U.S., per data website ScrapeHero. The restaurants are known for their all-you-can-eat salad bars, plus burgers and more.

The Garners Ferry Road corridor remains a busy, high traffic thoroughfare on the east side of Columbia. About 40,000 cars per day travel down Garners Ferry, per S.C. Department of Transportation data, making it one of the busiest non-interstate roads in the Midlands.
