McDaniels moving Porsche and Subaru dealerships to Killian Road

McDaniels Automotive Group will move its Columbia Porsche and Subaru dealerships on Two Notch Road to the Interstate 77-Killian Road area in Northeast Richland next spring.

After the move, McDaniels will no longer have any dealerships on Columbia’s one-time hub of automotive shopping, said Tracey McDaniels-Miller, general manager of the Subaru and Porsche dealerships. McDaniels has had as many as three dealerships on Two North Road over the past 26 years.

Like other major auto sellers, McDaniels has opened dealerships in northeast Richland where the population and household income have grown in recent years. At least eight dealers have opened around the Killian Road and I-77 intersection.

McDaniels already has Acura, Volkswagen and Mazda dealerships on Killian Road near Farrow Road.

The new Porsche and Subaru dealerships will allow McDaniels to open larger, more modern salesrooms and auto service operations, McDaniels-Miller said.

“We’re out of space here,” she said.

The Porsche dealership on Two Notch Road is in a 15-year-old building, while the Subrau dealership building is 27 years old, she said.

The move also puts all five McDaniels Columbia dealerships in one area on Killian Road so car buyers no longer have longer distances to drive between showrooms, she said.

“Everything is together,” McDaniels-Miller said.
