Midlands people and achievements: Sandra Owensby

Sandra Owensby has been named executive director of the Lourie Center in Columbia.

Owensby has 20 years of executive experience with non-profits in leading both national and grassroots organizations. Certified in non-profit management, Owensby is the immediate past president and CEO of Senior Centers of Spartanburg.

The Lourie Center, formerly known as the Capital Senior Advocacy Center, was renamed in 2013 for the late former State Senator Isadore Lourie of Columbia.
