American Airlines is adding three destinations from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, one of them domestic and two international.

Starting Saturday, American will operate once-weekly nonstop flights from Charlotte to Curacao, an island in the southern Caribbean, and Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic. The previously announced new service will be operated on Airbus A319 jets, which seat 128 passengers.

American also said Tuesday that it is starting daily service from Charlotte to Madison, Wisc. The airline will use a CRJ-700, a smaller jet that seats 65, for the flight. The new route starts April 5.

American is by far the largest carrier at Charlotte Douglas, operating about 90 percent of daily flights at the airport. Charlotte is the company’s second-largest hub, behind Dallas/Fort Worth.
