Shop Around: Lexington to get new Mexican eateries

Barberitos Southwestern Grille and Cantina will be coming to Lexington in the Saluda Pointe center at Highway 378 and Interstate 20. The Athens, Ga.-based franchise, known for its fresh, made-to-order burritos, opened its first location in the Midlands at 650 Lincoln St. in September. The Lexington location--which joins Chick-fil-A and Starbucks in the Saluda Pointe center--will be the franchise's fourth in South Carolina and is set to open in March.

A new Mexican table-service restaurant will be opening soon in the Scarborough Plaza shopping center located on Augusta Highway near Lexington High School. El Jimador will open in the former El Paso location in the center which is also home to Knead Pizza and Just for You by Lu. In late December, El Paso relocated and opened doors at its new location just down the road at 1937 Augusta Hwy.
