Midlands people and achievements: Edward W. Mullins, Jr.
Edward W. Mullins Jr. of the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough law firm in Columbia has received a Blacksmith Award from the Uniform Law Commission, according to the law firm. Mullins was honored for his efforts to push four pieces of legislation through the state Legislature. The acts address issues of human trafficking, deployed parents, military voting and family support. Mullins has represented the state of South Carolina since 2011 in The Uniform Law Commission, which studies and considers drafts of specific statutes in areas of the law where uniformity between the states is desirable.
