Midlands people and achievements: James Alford

James Alford is the new general manager of West Columbia’s Terra restaurant, which specializes in Chef Mike Davis’s seasonal preparation of Southern dishes using as many local products as possible. The restaurant is at 100 State St. in West Columbia. Alford previously worked at Motor Supply Co. Bistro, Grassroots Wine Wholesalers and Morganelli’s Party Store. He will be responsible for managing the front-of-house staff during service times, handling reservations for diners and the restaurant’s private dining room as well as managing Terra’s beverage inventory and more. He graduated from Columbia International University.
