Shop Around: Chef Simmons to offer classes in former Charleston Cooks! space
The space formerly occupied by Charleston Cooks! at Crosshill Market will soon be occupied for a short time by Rise Gourmet Goods and Bake Shop owner Sarah Simmons.
From May 2-6 Simmons and her New York restaurant CITY GRIT Hospitality Group's culinary director Aaron Hoskins will be partnering with the property’s owner, Eden Properties, to teach cooking classes in the space. The classes will be offered in the morning and afternoon and will feature five different courses ranging from topics such as cooking with global flavors and introduction to pasta to making bread and a summer of seafood.
"We're really excited about the opportunity to connect with the community and if it goes well, we plan to offer more classes in the future," Simmons said.
The classes range from $75-$85 per person and are for cooks of all experience levels but space is limited. Details about the classes as well as registration can be found on the CITY GRIT site -http://citygritnyc.com/schedule
EDENS is still determining the long-term use of the Charleston Cooks! space, according to social media marketer Sydney Cummins.
