A developer plans to build a five-story, 92-room hotel on Columbiana Drive near Lake Murray Boulevard.

The Columbia Planning Commission on Monday will consider approving a site plan for the hotel.

The hotel would be a Home2 Suites by Hilton, according to plans submitted to the city. The extended-stay chain has locations in Charleston, Florence and Greenville.

The proposed site at 610 Columbiana Drive sits just off the Lake Murray Boulevard exit from I-77 and about a mile and a half from Columbiana Centre mall and the busy Harbison commercial corridor. A vacant building currently sits on the site.

Anand Patel of Florence, representing Entegra Hotels LLC, submitted the site plan application to the city. The 2.2-acre site would include a 68,000-square-foot building and 95 parking spaces, according to the application.

The Planning Commission meets at 5:15 p.m. Monday in the second-floor conference room at 1737 Main St.
