Southeastern freight promotes Atkins

Melissa Atkins has been promoted to director of operations development for Southeastern Freight Lines. Atkins began at Southeastern, headquartered in Lexington, in 2004 as an outbound support clerk in Valdosta, Ga., where she was selected for the management training program. Since completing the training program, Atkins has served as process improvement specialist and manager of operations development. In her new role as director of operations development, Atkins will take on additional responsibilities such as industrial engineer, equipment manager, pickup and delivery for driver uniforms, financial budgeting for all service centers, real estate analysis and manager of various special projects. Prior to joining Southeastern, Melissa was a systems analyst in the U.S. Air Force.
