Toby Hayes has been named vice president of marketing at SAFE Federal Credit Union in Sumter. Hayes has held key marketing positions at credit unions in Texas and California over a 10-year career. He spent most of that career at Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego, where he was vice president and chief marketing officer. At Cabrillo, he helped increase membership, accounts, loan volume, and the credit card portfolio. Hayes started his career as a newspaper reporter and editor in Utah, and then became a corporate communications specialist with SkyWest Airlines before launching his credit union career. He has an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a degree in journalism from Utah State University.
