Carvana launches in SC, offers Columbia car buyers free, next-day vehicle delivery

Starting today, used car buyers in Columbia and Greenville can purchase a car online through eCommerce company Carvana and have the vehicle delivered to their doors as soon as the next day.

The Phoenix-based used car sales eCommerce company Carvana is launching its reach into South Carolina this week with its as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery to Columbia and Greenville markets.

By visiting Carvana.com, customers can search through Carvana’s inventory of 7,300-plus cars, finance, purchase and trade-in a car 100 percent online. Once customers have completed the online purchase process, they can schedule home delivery of their vehicle as soon as the next day. Alternatively, if customers prefer to pick up their car personally, they can opt into Carvana’s "Fly and Drive" program through which Carvana will subsidize $200 of airfare to a "Car Vending Machine" location in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Nashville or San Antonio.

If the customer is also trading in their old car through Carvana, the Carvana hauler will pick up that car at the same time as delivering the newly purchased vehicle.

Consumers are then given a seven-day "test-own" during which time they can make sure the vehicle is the one they want. The company reports that each car undergoes a 150-point inspection process and that no cars have been reported in an accident or have frame damage.

Founded in 2012, to date, Carvana has delivered cars to customers in 48 states. With this launch, Carvana now offers free, as-soon-as next-day delivery to residents in 27 markets nationwide.
