Pharmacy opens in former Main Street restaurant space
Long-time family-owned Columbia pharmacy Finklin Pharmacy has opened in North Main Plaza at 3800 N. Main Street in the prominent corner space formerly home to Ella’s Restaurant.
Finklin has been a staple in Columbia for 30 years and recently outgrew its space at 4100 N. Main, according to owner Leon Finklin.
“What we wanted to do is provide more services to residents in the North Columbia business area that are not being provided already,” Finklin said. “We are a part of the hospital connection to provide outpatient services as needed, we employ about four people and we’re going to have more coming on in a part-time role to help us grow the business.”
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new location Monday, Mayor Steve Benjamin noted the pharmacy’s impact in the Columbia area.
“For decades, thousands of Columbians, countless mentees and pharmacists in training have benefited from the incredible services and the professionalism of Leon Finklin and his family,” Benjamin said.
Finklin’s is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and is closed on Sundays.
