Residence Inn opens across from Lexington Medical Center

Folks planning or needing a long-term visit to Columbia, West Columbia or Lexington now have a new extended stay hotel perfectly positioned in the midst of all three.

In mid August, Clancy Cipkala, managing partner & CEO of Columbia-based Solara Hospitality, opened the 108-room Residence Inn by Marriott at 122 Mathias Drive off U.S. Hwy. 378 across from Lexington Medical Center. The location is a prime one for family members of long-term hospital patients who need an extended stay option near the medical facility. The hotel is also located seconds from the Hwy. 378 and I-26 intersection and is five miles from the Vista.

The four story, 8,700-square-foot, $12 million hotel offers features studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with separate living areas and full kitchens and is designed for stays of five nights or more. It also features some new trends in extended stay amenities, according to the hotel website, including a complimentary grocery delivery service, free wireless, a free hot breakfast, evening social hours Monday through Wednesday, an on-site fitness center and complimentary access to MUV Fitness.

Solara also operates the Residence Inn by Marriott at I-26 at Lake Murray boulevard, Town Place Suites at Columbiana, and the Fairfield Inn on Two Notch Road.
