Steak ‘n Shake is finally coming to the Midlands

The recently opened Freddy’s Steakburgers will soon have some competition at its Killian Road location when Steak ‘n Shake opens its first Midlands location there.

According to NAI Avant, who represented Steak ‘n Shake in the transaction, the steakburger restaurant purchased 1.09 acres of land on Killian Road from Crossings Development LLC for $817,500.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., Steak ‘n Shake operates more than 540 locations nationwide, primarily in the Midwest and South, but also has locations internationally. The company operates six locations in South Carolina: One in Greenville, one in Charleston, one in Rock Hill and three in Myrtle Beach.

EDIT: An astute reader pointed out that there once was a Steak ‘n Shake near Columbiana Centre mall. That location has since closed.
