Lexington adding a restaurant that serves a burger with nine patties
Lexington will get a new burger restaurant in the Lowes Foods-anchored shopping center at 5226 Sunset Blvd.
The shopping center’s developer, S.J. Enterprises, told The State on Tuesday that Wayback Burgers has signed a lease. Previously known as Jake's Wayback Burgers, the American fast casual restaurant chain is based in Cheshire, Conn. It is perhaps best known for its Triple Triple Triple burger — a nine-pattied burger standing almost a foot tall.
The chain operates 148 locations nationwide, eight of which are in South Carolina. Six of those are along the coast, while two are in Greenville and Spartanburg.
A projected opening date is yet to be released for the Lexington location.
