Shop Around: New eateries on Decker, Killian Road

Columbia has a new Libyan restaurant and sweets shop in Boeshreen at 2630 Decker Blvd. In addition to chicken, lamb and beef gyros and falafel sandwiches, Boeshreen offers Egyptian macaroni bechamel, a ground meat mixture between layers of macaroni smothered in a creamy bachamel sauce, and shakshouka, a dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, chili peppers and onions and spiced with cumin. Boeshreen is open daily 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Killian's Crossing area is also welcoming several new eateries this year. Panda Express fast-food Chinese restaurant opened at 443 Killian Rd. last month. Next door, at 437 Killian Rd., Applebee's Bar and Grill plans to open before Christmas. And just down the road, Chick-fil-A is expected to open its newest Midlands location in January.
