New ice cream shops come to Midlands

Despite summer vacation coming to an end for many Midlands area students this week, owners of two new area businesses are hoping all will continue to scream for ice cream well into the fall.

One of those is Susan DeMarco who recently opened Sweet Pea's Ice Cream Parlor at 412 McNulty St. in Blythewood. Sweet Pea's sells nearly two dozen flavors of Edy's and Blue Bunny ice cream at $2.99 for a single scoop; $4.99 for a triple.

And another locally owned ice cream parlor--7 Star Ice Cream--is coming soon to the Shoppes at Flight Deck at the corner of Old Chapin Road and West Main Street in Lexington. 7 Star will feature homemade ice cream, cookies and coffee.
