Lexington School District 3 worker tests positive for Covid-19
Lexington County School District Three is suspending its Student Feeding Program after a worker tested positive for COVID-19, the district announced Sunday.
According to the district, all individuals who came in contact with the infected worker at the feeding site have been notified and will self-quarantine for the next two weeks. The district also said its custodial and maintenance staff will be performing deep cleanings of all district facilities where the infected person may have spent time.
Lexington Three hopes to be able to restart its Student Feeding Program later in the month.
Families who were planning to participate in the district’s Student Feeding Program still have the option of picking up food at Gilbert Primary School, located at 520 Main Street in Gilbert, on the following times and dates:
▪ April 14: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Participants will receive a breakfast and lunch)
▪ April 15: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Participants will receive three breakfasts and three lunches)
▪ April 20: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Participants will receive two breakfasts and two lunches)
▪ April 22: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Participants will receive three breakfasts and three lunches)
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths in South Carolina increased Sunday, with an additional 113 positive tests and two new deaths announced by state health officials.
That puts the state’s total of confirmed cases at 3,319 and the number of deaths at 82. A month ago there were 10 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the state — and no reported deaths.
