Here’s where to get your child vaccinated against COVID around Columbia 

Columbia-area parents have several location options to get their child vaccinated against COVID-19.

The pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children age 5-11 became available Wednesday, health officials announced.

Vaccine locations can be found on DHEC’s website, vaxlocator.dhec.sc.gov. The site will be updated as more locations become available.

As of Thursday, here are the locations offering the pediatric coronavirus vaccine:

Prisma Health

Prisma Health, one of the largest health care providers in the state, will offer pediatric COVID-19 vaccines to children 5-11 starting Thursday afternoon.

Vaccines will be distributed at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital and their site at 19 Calhoun Street.

Parents don’t need to secure an appointment ahead of time at those sites. They also will not need to get an order or referral from another doctor.

The vaccine site at the Children’s Hospital will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Calhoun Street location will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

MUSC

The Medical University of South Carolina will offer the vaccines at their Columbia vaccine clinic, located at 1730 Henderson Street.

No appointments are necessary, but parents will need to register their children.

The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.

Lexington Medical Center

Lexington Medical Center will offer the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine at their vaccine clinic at Brookland Baptist Church,1066 Sunset Blvd. in West Columbia.

The vaccine clinic will offer appointments from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday an Sunday.

Appointments can be scheduled online at lexmed.com/covid.

Richland County Health Department

The Richland County Health Department will offer the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine at their location, 2000 Hampton St.

Appointments can be scheduled at cvas.dhec.sc.gov/health/covidvaccinescheduling

Lexington County Health Department

The Lexington County Health Department will offer the pedatric COVID-19 vaccine at their location at 1070-B South Lake Drive in Lexington.

My Pharmacy

My Pharmacy, located at 808 Hwy 378 in Lexington, will offer the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Appointments can be scheduled online at mypharmacyandoptical.com/covid19-vaccination/

Palmetto Pediatric

Palmetto Pediatric will offer the pediatric vaccine at their location, 140 Park Central Drive, according to DHEC’s website.

Sandhills Pediatric

Sandhills Pediatric will offer the pediatric vaccine at their various locations across the Columbia area, according to DHEC.

Carolina Pediatrics

Carolina Pediatrics will offer the pediatric vaccine at their location at 2113 Adams Grove, according to DHEC’s website.

Doctors Care Forest Acres

Doctors Care will offer the pediatric vaccine at their location at 4500 Forest Dr., according to DHEC’s website.

Nephron will offer the pediatric vaccine at their location at 4500 12th St. extension in West Columbia, according to DHEC’s website.

Palmetto Pediatric/Adolescent Clinic will offer the pediatric vaccine at their location at 1970 Augusta Highway in Lexington, according to DHEC’s website.
