Fire destroys home in Northeast Richland County early Tuesday
A fire destroyed a home in Northeast Richland County early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to 204 Indigo Springs Drive – located in the Summit – at about 2:30 a.m., said Capt. Brick Lewis, spokesman for the Columbia Fire Department. About half of the home was burning when they arrived.
No one was home at the time of the fire, Lewis said, and no injuries were reported. The home suffered about $200,000 in damage.
Two homes, one on either side of the house that burned, suffered minimal damage from the heat, Lewis said.
The Richland County Fire Marshal is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
