Man with ‘violent’ past allegedly spit on girlfriend, threatened her with gun

A woman called police after she had allegedly been spit on, punched and threatened with a gun by her live-in boyfriend, according to reports.

Camden police responded to a home on York Street around midnight Sept. 24 after a 39-year-old woman called in to report she had been assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, Allen Eugene Washington, according to the incident report.

Washington served time in prison in the 1990s and early 2000s for intimidating or forcing a witness, child abuse with injury/neglect, second degree attempted murder and threatening to use any firearm, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.

When units arrived, they found the victim, who was visibly shaking and crying but had no visible injuries.

The victim told police Washington, 46, had been drinking alcohol earlier and they began to argue. She also told police Washington was a “very violent person.”

He then allegedly spit in her face twice and hit her in the face twice with a closed fist.

The victim told police that Washington then retrieved a 9mm Ruger handgun from a bedroom, pointed it at her head and told her he was going to kill her.

The report stated the gun had a laser attached, which was pointing at the victim.

The victim reportedly picked up the gun after Washington had placed it on the floor.

Washington allegedly told the victim she could not leave the house, and if she told police that she would die that night, the report stated.

When he fell asleep, she called police and told them she was in “extreme fear for her life,” according to the report.

Police arrested Washington and seized the handgun, which was reportedly full loaded with a round in the chamber.

Washington was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, kidnapping and first degree domestic violence.

His bond was set at $40,000 at the Kershaw County Detention Center, according to detention center records.
