Midlands expected to get steady rain through Saturday afternoon
The Midlands should expect a heavy, steady rain through most of the day Saturday, according to the most recent forecast from the National Weather Service.
Ken Aucoin, a former WIS-TV meterologist who now works in Richland County Emergency Services Department, said rain was expected to intensify Friday night with a steady downfall through 3 p.m. Saturday.
The area is expected to receive between four and six inches of rain.
"Over that period of time that’s manageable," he said. "It's when we get that over two hours that it's trouble."
Wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph are expected. The rain is expected to clear by 3 p.m. Saturday
“You’ll see the stars out Saturday night," Aucoin said. “We might even get a nice sunset out of it. And Sunday will be as picture perfect as you can get."
