Free extra cellphone data for AT&T, Verizon customers from SC coast
Major cell phone companies AT&T and Verizon are waiving fees for data overages to residents of coastal S.C. counties affected by Hurricane Matthew from Oct. 7 through 11.
AT&T customers in Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Hampton, Horry, Jasper, Marion and Williamsburg counties will not have to pay charges for extra data.
Verizon is offering unlimited domestic phone calls, texts and data usage to those same counties and Dillon and Florence counties.
