SC House reschedules public hearing on reforming state taxes

A public hearing to allow S.C. residents to give their thoughts on the state’s tax laws has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The meeting, originally set for Tuesday, was delayed because of Hurricane Matthew.

The House panel is reviewing whether to make changes to the state’s tax laws, including sales and income taxes.

Individuals and organizations wishing to speak may sign up by calling (803) 734-3230 or emailing the committee at TaxPolicyReview@SCHouse.gov. Speakers will be limited to five minutes, but that time limit can be extended for questions and answers.

The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. in the Room 110 of the Blatt Building.
