SC State Fair nearly breaks opening day record

Good weather helped push the 2016 S.C. State Fair to near record attendance on opening day.

Wednesday drew 39,383 patrons, just shy of the 41,022 record from 2014, according to a news release from the fair.

More good weather is ahead, with highs through the weekend expected in the 70s and 80s, with little chance of rain.
