Woman dies in crash on I-26 near Chapin

An Irmo women died after being struck by two vehicles on I-26 near Chapin, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim Saturday as Lauren Lew, 26.

State troopers are searching for one unidentified vehicle that didn’t stop after striking Lew shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.

Lew was hit as she walked in the eastbound lanes of the highway after being involved in a separate collision, troopers said.
