Fire extinguished at Gaston pet food warehouse

A commercial structure fire occurred at Diamond Pet Food Warehouse in Gaston on Monday.

Around 3:30 p.m., Lexington Fire Service and EMS responded to a fire at the residence on the 100 block of Woodtrail Drive, near its intersection with main Street N, according to officials.

Fire and smoke was coming from the bagging area of one of the buildings on Diamond Pet Food’s campus and spread to a silo, according to officials, adding firefighters contained and extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation, according to officials, saying there’s no damage estimate at this time.
