Sumter child airlifted to hospital after being kicked by horse
A child was airlifted to an area hospital as a precaution after being kicked by a horse at her family’s Sumter County residence on Sunday.
A 10-year-old girl was playing in her yard on Nazarene Church Road near noon when she was kicked in the back of the head, according to officials with the Sumter Fire Department, who described the situation as an accident.
The child was alert when she was transported, said officials, adding the girl’s condition is fine, suffering no serious injuries.
