St. Pat’s in Five Points lineup features wide variety

This year’s St. Pat’s in Five Points has everything: indie, punk, country, rap and even a whole new stage dedicated to electronic dance music (EDM).

Amy Beth Franks, executive director of the Five Points Association and co-chair of the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration, led the announcement of the 16-artist lineup that will play on five stages in the hospitality district for this year’s festival.

Headliners include Chris Robinson Brotherhood, featuring Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes; country singer Holly Williams, granddaughter of the legendary Hank Williams; country duo Love and Theft; and indie group J. Roddy Walston and the Business. The lineup also features punk band The Bouncing Souls and many South Carolina groups, including Atlas Road Crew, SUSTO and Palmetto Blue.

“We’re very proud to feature a variety of genres this year,” Franks said.

The lineup includes emerging indie artists, such as Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, who will also play Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this year, and established acts like Chris Robinson and The Bouncing Souls. The new EDM-dedicated stage, which brings the stage count from four to five, will be on Santee Street for the festival.

Performance times and stage assignments have not yet been announced, but will be revealed closer to the festival, which is on March 14 this year. Franks also said that the festival’s parade, which kicks off the day’s festivities, will have a grand marshal.
