Columbia native among Emmy winners for ‘Colbert Report’

The Emmy-winning writing team of “The Colbert Report” includes Bobby Mort, a 1989 graduate of Richland Northeast High School and a 1997 University of South Carolina graduate.

Mort began his comedy writing career in Chicago, writing for the “Bozo Super Sunday Show,” acted in bit parts.

The team won the Emmy Sunday for outstanding writing for comedy /variety series and the show won the Emmy for outstanding comedy/variety series.

His family lives in Columbia.
