Worth noting: There’s a new headquarters, at the State Museum, along with a new web-based donations platform. The new platform is the result of technical problems during last year’s campaign. Stop by the museum for a free Parking Lot Picnic to celebrate our community’s giving, 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

RETURNING NONPROFIT

“The Cooperative Ministry participates in Midlands Gives because the event provides a platform not only to raise much-needed funds but also to increase awareness of vital programs and services The Cooperative Ministry provides to the working poor of the Midlands. 2017 is our fourth year of participation, which means that we have been involved since Day One and the results have been a steady increase in revenue and new supporters. ... This year we are striving to raise $15,000 and increase our new supporters by 200.”

– Jessica Grote, director of financial sustainability programs for The Cooperative Ministry

NEW PARTICIPANT

“The board wanted to make it easier for parents and alumni to contribute to our (Irmo High School Education) Foundation. We know that many of our alumni and community already use Midlands Gives for their charitable giving. By participating, it now allows them to choose the foundation so that they can support the school's ongoing mission of meeting the needs of all of our students and promoting academic excellence.”

– Dave Riegel, principal, Irmo High School
