Here’s your chance to talk about Columbia water and sewer bills going up
Your Columbia water and sewer bill is probably going up next year, and you have a chance Thursday to find out more about the proposed changes.
A drop-in from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Canal Room under EdVenture Children’s Museum will give water and sewer customers the opportunity to talk with city leaders about proposed water, sewer and stormwater rate raises.
They’ll tell you how the city plans to invest in infrastructure and what you could expect your new bills to look like.
The city is considering a 4.75 percent water and sewer rate increase – about $2.50 extra on the monthly bills for the average in-city resident – and a $5 monthly increase in stormwater fees for the average household.
