Lightning strike might have caused Columbia house fire
The Columbia Fire Department responded to a house fire Monday that might have been caused by a lightning strike.
The Columbia Fire Department responded at 4:30 p.m. to a residence on the 100 block of Salusbury Lane, near the intersection of Clemson and HardScrabble roads, that was reportedly struck by lightning. The scene was reported to be under control around 5:40 p.m.
No injuries were reported and the house was vacant, according to the Columbia Fire Department.
The Richland County Fire Marshal will determine the cause of the fire.
