Missing Sumter man found safe

An 81-year-old man who went missing from a relative’s home Tuesday afternoon was found safe.

The Sumter Police Department announced around 11 p.m. Tuesday that Williams “Pete” Jackson had been found.

No additional information was available on where he was found or how. He had gone missing in Sumter between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday.
