West Columbia amphitheater closed for few weeks

The Riverwalk amphitheater in West Columbia is closed through mid-August for seat and stage renovations.

The $31,500 project is due to be finished before the city’s solar eclipse viewing Aug. 21, officials said Tuesday.

The path along the Congaree River will remain open for walking and other activities during the improvements.

Parking near the amphitheater also will be closed while the work happens.
