City lifts boil water advisory for northeast Columbia neighborhood

The City of Columbia Water Works has lifted a boil water advisory for a neighborhood near the Village at Sandhill in northeast Columbia.

Customers of Spring Water Drive, Woodshore Drive and Foxhill Court, in Richland County, no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples indicate the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.

The advisory was issued following an eight-inch water main break on Monday.

Anyone with questions may call Columbia Water Works at (803) 545-3300.
