Harvey throwing off thunderstorms over South Carolina as it moves north.

The National Weather Service in Columbia is monitoring a number of severe thunderstorms threatening parts of the state Friday, the result of Harvey’s movement north.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Friday afternoon for areas around Lake Murray but most of the threatening thunderstorms have been to the south of Columbia and in the Upstate.

A tornado watch is in effect in northern South Carolina and North Carolina until 10 p.m. Friday.
